Lactuca sativa
Popular winter lettuce with small red-green heads.
Baquieu is an old variety that gives pleasure throughout the garden year. Thanks to its excellent cold resistance, it can thrive in the open very early, but also very late in the year. Only in summer does it quickly become too warm, which is why it starts flowering as soon as possible. For overwintering, this variety should be sown in the fall, as the small and young plants are less susceptible to moisture and frost. Baquieu forms beautiful red-green and crunchy heads. If it is sown very densely, it can be harvested several times as plucking lettuce.
